Summer Drawing Course Sketchbook Excerpts

I just completed a summer drawing course, it was challenging and fun. I'll post some of the pieces I completed during the course over the next couple of weeks. I'll start with some of the sketches I did during that time.

The Last Two

The Million Dollar Man's Feast
based on Rembrandt's "Feast of Belshazzar"

The Blinding of Andre
based on Rembrandt's "The Blinding of Samson"

What I've Been Up To Lately

Hulk Hogan Reveals His Knowledge of Jake the Snake's Betrayal
based on Da Vinci's "Last Supper"

The Betrayal of Hulk Hogan
based on Caravaggio's "The Taking of Christ"

Brawn over Brains
based on Raphael's "The School of Athens"

So for the last set in my Digital Printmaking class I decided to recast figures from classic paintings with wrestling figures from my childhood. So take that Da Vinci, Caravaggio, and Raphael!

Cyclops and Rom the Space Knight

A ROM Napkin Drawing:

Iceman

Digital Prints

I'm taking a digital printmaking class this semester. It's broken down so we do 3 sets of 5 prints. The first 5 I did were homages to old men's magazine covers from the 1950s-60s. I had a blast working on them.

The first is called Savage Safari.

Melon Man Comics!

For a while now I've had Melon Man stories collecting dust, so I finally decided to get serious about making them. I thought it'd be a better idea to create a separate place for the stories. The link is below. So far there are two shorter stories, but soon there will be some longer form stories posted.
